TIS Signs Agreement With Canadian University

TIS and the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on November 3. The agreement establishes a formal understanding of cooperation and friendship between the two schools. Areas of cooperation will include student recruitment, field placements of University of Lethbridge students at TIS and student summer programming which will see TIS students visit the University of Lethbridge to further their studies in English.

TIS Students Shine At Macau Speech Contest

Perseverance paid off for Grade 12 student Gary Cai. After competing in his fourth Macao-wide English Speech Contest, he took home first place in the Senior High category with his speech on "Global Challenges in Macau Education". Grade 2 student Luis Chipenda Martins was also a winner, picking up third place in the Lower Primary category. Andy Zhang, In Tong Chan and Jenny Chan also gave solid performances at the finals and represented TIS with pride.
The Macao-wide English Speech Contest is held annually at the Macao Polytechnic Institute and consists of a prepared speech followed by a question and answer session.

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Visits TIS


Musicians from the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra's brass quintet took some time out of their busy touring schedule to visit TIS and perform for students recently. The musicians performed a variety of classical pieces as well as some old-time favourites during the half-hour concert in the MPR. After the concert, they conducted instrumental workshops with TIS band members.
