TIS students in grades 3-5 had the opportunity to participate in an Indian dance workshop recently with award winning dancer Pallavi Krishnan. Ms. Krishnan and her musical troupe are in Macau from May 1-30th for the 19th Macau Arts Festival, an annual event which features performances by artists from around the world.
Her visit to TIS was part of a school program to develop students' interest in different art forms.
During the workshop, Ms. Krishnan talked about Indian culture and traditions and also performed some mesmerizing dances. Students learned the technical skills of Indian classical dance and the importance of body language as a means of telling a story. They were then invited on stage for some hands-on instruction from Ms. Krishnan.
