Flying Eye Hospital Comes to Macau

Dec. 7, 2007

TIS students had the opportunity to tour the one-of-a-kind "Flying Eye Hospital" in December. The plane was stationed in Macau during a goodwill visit to raise funds for a pediatric program in Dehong, China. The DC-10 aircraft has been converted into a teaching facility and ophthalmic surgical centre. Orbis, an international non-profit organization dedicated to preventing blindness in the developing world, operates the plane.
